I do however like the X men blocking more. We can get real physical quick and i like the lock in feeling of the X-men block.

--I think it's been one of the best additions to our Double Wing.

This will be my first season hopefully (current climate) running Double Wing

--If you're really interested in X-Men, you can give me a call and we can go through all the points of installation.

You're in Maryland?  You should've come to hang out with Ryan Patrick and myself when I was in D.C. a couple months ago.

My plan and teaching style thus far is patterned off off what I have learned from Coach Wyatt and Coach Lawson.

Keeping it brief on our EDD. Send me your email and I can shoot you the whole plan for critique and any suggestions you may have.

1. Load explode go Progression - From gunslinger, arms crossed thumbs down, striking with both forearms.

A. From right knee down 

B. Left knee down

C. Both knee down

D. From 3 point

E. From 3 point, now with a partner with shield

F. From 3 point, now with a partner with shield, partner let's go of shield now. "stay welded" drive 12 steps.

G. From 3 point, now with a partner with shield, partner let's go of shield now. "stay welded" drive 12 steps. Partner now moves side to side.

2. A.Half team on Sled - same blocking above-

Straight, 45 degree left, 45 degree right

B. Half team on chute - same as above

3. Tackling circuits- split team up - (2 stations per day from A - E below) same tech as above in blocking, except we now drill wrap arms around pads/ partner drive for 12 steps, Rip, grip, squeeze elbows in.

A. Form tackling

B. Crash pad tackling station

C. Scrape and fill

D. Open field

E. Triangle tackling

Then we would start into our offense team drills/ play reps

Then Defense time, same as above.

Once a week - Super Power hour.

Yes. We will be most of the heavy conditioning in July, 300 yard shuttles etc. Warmups of course before our EDD, at the end of practice we will be running 100 yard lap as well. In case I haven't said we are a 8u team.

Warmups: 20 yards deep cone at start and midway.

1. High Knees to 10y - 5 Team Jumping jacks at 10 - Butt kickers final 10y.

2. Drum majors to 10y - 5 Team Pushups at midway - Frankie walks final 10y

3. Right lunge to 10y - 5 Team up downs at midway - left lunge final 10y

4. Back pedal 10y turn over left shoulder at midway and sprint 10y

5. Back pedal 10y turn over right shoulder at midway and sprint 10y

6. Bear crawl 10y , sprint final 10y
