---------------E--T--G--C--G--T------------------X
---------------E----T---N----T---E
-------------B----------M---------------B----C----C
-----------------------------F

2..-----------------------B
-------------------------Q--------------------H---Z
-----X-------------T--G--C--G--T--Y
---------------E----T---N----T---E
-----C------------------M--------------B----B----C
-----------------------------F

Never been a fan of CB Over mostly due to when the O motions to trips and pulls the CB with him.

Its a common ploy to out number you Weak.

We Roll the Coverage...which is harder to teach.

What is beautiful, lives forever.

Saw a team in conference play this year go quads right and run speed option weak for about 80. I couldn't believe the other guys brought their corner over with that. DEs just aren't fast enough to truly contain a fast qb or RB.

I always zone overloaded formations.  I found it works much better

I always assume a team can speed option weak (11 and up) out of Ace Gun or Pistol, even though most can't.  I am just afraid of it.

If we leave just one he can't handle 2.

ATTACHED are the "strengths & weaknesses" of the SIX BASIC COVERAGES we face, showing HOW they adjust to our two basic FORMATIONS:

Cover 1 for SECONDARY = ATTACHED:

Cover 1 for LINEBACKERS = BELOW:

PRINCIPLES OF MAN COVERAGE FOR INSIDE LINEBACKERS

1. DO NOT GET BEAT DEEP.  KEEP THE RECEIVER IN FRONT OF YOU.

2. EYES SHOULD BE FOCUSED ON RECEIVER’S WAIST.  NOTICE BODY LEAN.  IF RECEIVER SHORTENS STRIDE AND DROPS HIPS, ANTICIPATE CUT.

3. KEEP A SLIGHT INSIDE-OUT CUSHION.

4. DO NOT LET RECEIVER GET TO A HEAD UP POSITION.

5. WHEN RECEIVER BREAKS, BREAK ON THE SAME ANGLE AS HE DOES.  DO NOT LOOK FOR THE BALL TILL HE LOOKS FOR IT.

6. NEVER BREAK IN FRONT OF THE RECEIVER UNLESS UNLESS YOU CAN GET BOTH HANDS ON THE BALL.

7. IF YOU HAVE NO CHANCE TO INTERCEPT, PLAY THE BALL WITH YOUR NEAR ARM AND HOOK THE RECEIVER’S WAIST WITH FAR ARM FOR TACKLE IF NEEDED.

8. KEEP YOUR FEET ACTIVE, DO NOT LET YOUR FEET STOP.  STAY ON THE BALLS OF YOUR FEET.

9. IF BEAT DEEP, DO NOT PANIC, PUT YOUR HEAD DOWN AND CLOSE THE DISTANCE BETWEEN YOU AND THE RECEIVER.  DO NOT LOOK BACK FOR THE BALL.  WHEN THE RECEIVER’S HAND GO UP, PUT YOUR HANDS IN HIS HANDS.  YOUR NUMBER ONE OBJECTIVE AT THIS POINT IS TO CLOSE THE DISTANCE.

10. TAKE PRIDE IN YOUR ABILITY TO COVER YOUR MAN ONE-ON-ONE.

“REAL MEN PLAY MAN”!!!!!
