Jack Gregory has books and DVDs that are excellent.  Hugh Wyatt's materials are also top notch.  I have everything that both have put out.  Tim Murphy has good material, too.  Jack's materials are oriented to the youth coach; Coach Wyatt's and Murphy's more to the HS coach.  JJ Lawson has a "Simple DW."  And Jerry Vallotton sells the bible of the offense, "The Toss."

thanks all.  i found some of gregory's stuff already.  DP if somebody wrote 'the bible' of DW, you know i have to get that now.  my wife asked what i wanted for xmas, and now i have an answer.

i think i'll always be a UBSW guy, but i've watched quite a bit of DW stuff over the last 10 days(unemployment really helps coaching prep!!) and i've come to really love the offense, largely due to the misdirection-the kind of stuff us UBSW guys try to get through spin series/buck laterals(but honestly, i haven't even tried buck laterals yet, too much opportunity for problems).  i like the DW misdirections, because they have less moving parts, fall under the parone axiom of, 'if you can run it simply and error free and it creates a problem for the opposition, it is worth working on'.

anyway, thanks again for the suggestions.

If you want youth-focused that doesn't use rules blocking (uses TKO), go with Gregory and Lawson. Gregory's material is a little deeper/more complicated, Lawson specializes in simple. Support-wise, Lawson is very available, great guy, will help you out even if you deviate from what he does.  He doesn't care, this isn't how he makes his living, he's a football junkie.  He might call you stupid, but it's done with love, LOL.  Gregory hasn't been around much, I think life has been keeping him busy but don't know. He's a great guy, just haven't seen him around.

If you want shotgun, Gregory, Murphy and Wyatt have material.  Murphy and Wyatt are rules blocking, but Murphy's stuff works with TKO too. I frankly prefer Murphy - it's HS oriented, but easily adapted to youth.

Wyatt has great material, but it is fairly unique - his nomenclature is Wing-T based, and he does things slightly differently.  Meaning you'll probably want to go whole-hog and stick with his stuff if that's the way you're going. If you want to be able to get his support, you have to pretty much stick to his material by the book.  He's pretty inaccessible if he doesn't know you or you're not completely buying into his approach. He's a good guy, but this is how he makes his living to some extent, so he can be prickly about certain things.

If you prefer rules blocking and want a nice hardcore DTDW offense, Calande is the way to go. He's around on here, seems pretty accessible. His stuff works at the youth level, has won Pop Warner titles in Disney.

In the past I have used the Gregory system, and that was with 7-8 year olds. I currently use the Murphy system, and have used it from 9 year olds through varsity high school level. I think both systems are excellent, and worth looking at.

Calande's system is pretty flexible even though Steve's a relative purist to the DTDW philosophy.  I've used his stuff with DTDW but then morphed to a number of different sets with the same blocking rules for different ages of kids and different talent strengths on team....

I recommend ALL his stuff from practice schedules to training drills....
