It sounds like you are describing a "Blast" play, where the motion wing thumps it up inside the B gap area.
QB reverses out and hands off.
Some will have him toss, spin and lead up.

Yeah I want him following bb through a gap but don't want Qb leading. Lb have to b at 5 yards so this play should hit nice.

BLAST has quickly become one of our favorite plays because we use TKO for our POWER plays ... that DT gets wise to the downblocks and either moves his alignment over or just steps wide at the snap to 'jump the wall' ... when we find a DT that is doing this or a team that aligns with a bubble in the Bgap area on purpose we like to call BLAST ... it looks a lot like POWER and really takes advantage of the bubble in the Bgap ...

It can be run with our without the QB leading ... some guys lead the playside WB through as well but to me this is a give away that it is NOT our POWER play ... blocking it the way we do gives very little indication that it isnt POWER and keeps the Def Coord guessing as to why his defense isnt working ...
