As far as I know I've never heard this elsewhere...

"You deserve what you accept."

If you show up for a fair fight, you are unprepared.

I'd give that a thumbs up.

I should have googled this before I posted it.  Apparently this saying is all over the internet.  I genuinely don't recall ever encountering it...it's something I've had in my skull for a fair amount of time...thought I conceived of it myself but perhaps not.  In any event, it's a nice little tidbit.

If you sit around complaining about your spouse, significant other, teams performance, job or anything else...you don't deserve any better.

If you show up for a fair fight, you are unprepared.

Forget it.  I'm still giving you credit for it.

I used this when talking with my oldest son last night. He was upset that he didn't make the 10U team as a 9-year old. I told him that he didn't have to accept that he wasn't good enough and that he can bust his tail to get better so that he makes it next year.

"You deserve what you accept".

@terrypjohnson do like me and claim you invented it...only because you're at a point in your life where you're beginning to become forgetful.

Either way, I find it to be a simple, concise way of explaining why we deserve what we have...and yeah, it's usually not in a positive light.

If you show up for a fair fight, you are unprepared.
