I bring  11 bumper sticker sized stickers that just say somebody on them.  I put these stickers on the defensive players.  Makes yelling block somebody 110% more effective if they want it.

Does that help?

Don't stop him.  He's on a roll.

You should hear his 20-minute pregame speech about how he doesn't believe in 20-minute pregame speeches.

Michael can not receive PM's, emails or respond to Posts. He passed away in September 2018. To honor his contributions we are leaving his account active. R.I.P - Dumcoach Staff.

Team has lost only 2 games in 3 years and averaging over 30 points a game in those 3 years with holes you could even run through Coach.

Nope, not even me.  I never played.

The biggest problem with youth o-lines is that they don't "want it bad enough."  After all, "you've gotta want it!"

--Dave

Oh, I thought it was that they just didn't hear you scream "Block somebody!"  Maybe if they hear it one more time, it'll click...

Full disclosure: We have a fan at our games. I think he's a family friend of a player. Pretty sure he's from Europe. In a very thick accent, he screams "BAHLAAAAHHHHHK!!!!!" then entire game, whether we are on offense, defense or special teams an I love it.

When in doot . . . glass and oot.

Love it.

I guess it's better than the dad I've had at basketball games always yelling to our team "Run motion!!".  Yes, our offense is a motion offense, but we do not call it that despite this guy's best efforts to name it that. I think the players just ignore him now.

We finally had our jamboree last night....It would have been impossible to count the number of times I heard an adult yell hit somebody.

I love when my 5 linemen are expected to block 7 defenders.  ::)  Sorry, but "somebody" probably isn't getting blocked.

Had that one last year. We were in spread and the lone back was hitting the flat immediately. I told the OC that he either stays to pick up the free guy first or "somebody" is going to kill our QB. 🙂

I had that fight about a month ago with Mahonz and our OC. When we're in "empty", we are 5 vs whatever the defense brings (duh). I was hopping mad about keeping the Ace back in to block and having him call for help from the H. I was overruled and we opted to throw short routes if we are overloaded. I was wrong. Our QB hasn't even been close to being sacked yet and bringing 6 against us is a HUGE mistake. I still pucker when the OC dials up a deep fade, post or post/corner when the defense brings the house, but we keep completing them.

A good blocking scheme doesn't require that you block everybody . . . just that you account for them. Throwing it over their head is a good way to account for them.

With your line splits the DE needs half a tank of gas to get to your QB lol
