It’s going to happen for the first time in my career. We’re playing for a state title after knocking off the overall 1 seed last week. It was a wild game that ended 7-6. We were out played but our kids found a way to hang on and win. There were quite a few committed D1 dudes on both sides and there were some amazing defensive plays made. It all came down to a 35 yard FG attempt by our opponent to win the game with :36 left…the kick was wide. I have been on the other side of those scores many times. It was nice to be on the good side this time.

Nice!  That's a special season.

Man what a game…committed college football players all over the field on both sides and big shots were traded the whole game. Unfortunately, we came up on the short end of a 35-28 final. Making a run to the state title game is an amazing ride and I feel so blessed to have been a part of this one.

There were so many highs and lows in a season that started back in January with strength and conditioning. A season that almost didn’t happen due to a school levy that failed twice and was finally passed on the third and final try. We had to make a QB change early in the year and had to regain the trust of the team. We lost two of our best players during our run and had guys fill roles that were not ready but did the job. The championship game came right down to the final drive but it wasn’t our night.

These experiences are so rare and so unique to football. I will be forever grateful to have been a part of this program!

Y'know Josh, regardless of the result, it's seasons like this (where you have the long run) that are the most dramatic, have the most plot twists and in the end are the most fulfilling, regardless of the result.  Kids are going to remember this year from here to the rest of their lives and you have given them a great gift (as they have given you).  It's a blessing all the way around.  Great job.

I couldn't agree more! I hope some of these kids are able to remember how dire the season felt at various times, yet we prevailed. Those experiences can be building blocks for the future. I know in my life, that has definitely been the case many times.

Congratulations 👏

Great to hear about your special season and a heck of a game to win to get there.

Good luck at state!

I can explain it to you, I can't understand if for you.
