Bring as much as you are comfortable giving.  Just because you bring it, doesn't mean you have to show it to them.

Most coord positions they tell you,  this sounds like a position coach interview just by how u phrased it.

Bring some scheme if youre comfy with it like DP said.

My interview questions were almost always bout u the coach. ... experiance... successes...failures... politics in high school football. Followed by how can i help the team yadda yadda

I'll probably go with bare minimum...primarily base schemes.

Tomorrow, I am going to interview for the defensive coaching position at a local high school.

When I've had interviews for head coaching jobs, I generall bring a resume and not very detailed info about scheme along S&C ideas, coaching conduct, etc.

Being that this is more specific, should I bring more detailed info about scheme?

I don't know if they're looking for someone to put their defensive scheme in or if they want someone with other ideas. The good thing about this interview is that this AD has hired me before as a defensive coach when he was with a different school. Not that it gives me any advantages as this school has also hired a new head coach.

If you have a defensive package, AND it’s complete....bring it but do NOT offer it as a savior for the program if they are looking for you to come in and help with what plans they already have...many coaches, myself included, do not want to change systems every time a new AC comes on board...a newly hired HC probably doesn’t yet have his defense installed....is this guy a new hire?

Yes, new HC. I know he has an offense because I happened to meet him a few months ago at a youth football meeting and we spoke for a few minutes. A lot of the kids that he will have this year are kids that I coached 5-6 years ago. He never mentioned anything about defense although I never asked either. I was thinking to just bring some base install stuff, and as was already suggested, use it if I need to.

Well maybe he’s looking to hire a defensive wizard and hand it over...would make his life easier if he finds a guy like that.

How much you bring and how much you end up sharing are 2 different things. How much trouble is it to carry something that you don't use?

Better to have something and NOT need it than to NOT have it and need it. I have never been let down by that philosophy.

Interview went real well. It was a good thing that I did bring some info on my defensive scheme. I was asked about how I would defend some of the teams in our division which are primarily T/Double wing. I've played against some of those teams when I coached at one of the schools a few years ago, so I had a pretty good idea of what they ran. The schemes I developed were kind of a mixture of DC Pro 4-3/WT6/KB that I had been working on for a couple of years, but hadn't had the chance to play it on grass yet. It had to be something that could play well against FH, 2TE teams, but had the flexibility to easily cover some of the spread formations that teams run. They'll make their decision next week.
