Tonight on his Cranksgiving special, Jim the Poet said that when he was a child, "Coaching was, like...child abuse."

Bob.

Just going to be blunt.  Don't know who "Jim The Poet" is but his analogy is why the state of football is where its at.  Its Moronic statements like this and
Knee Jerk Fools insinuating that kids will be Brain Dead if they play that put the game I love in Jeopardy!

Thanks for sharing....NOT!  WTF???

Dusty

Not MPP... ONE TASK!  Teach them!  🙂

It came up in the conversation with a phoner-in about the Jersey Devils hockey team and their bad coaching.  Jim said anybody could coach as badly as that...even he could.  That's when he gave his description of coaching as he remembered it.  (Wasn't about any particular sport.)  I thought it was funny.

Jim doesn't have a regular program on WFMU -- his last was "Sportsy Talk" with Bronwyn C. which "replaced" their previous program whose name and subject matter kept changing, and Bronwyn had had previous co-hosts, including none -- but his running title when he does a show now is "Showy McShowface".  His Cranksgiving special was to be the opposite of Thanksgiving.  His idea was to invite, not people's thanks for the previous year or whenever, but their complaints.  Hence the Jersey Devils.
