Does anyone know what (if anything) there is to do in Nashville?

Honkytonks. Johnny Cash Museum. Grand Ole Opry.
There's a lot of live music; grand ole opry...., they have an actual full size recreation of the Parthenon, or you can sneak in to the abandon prison from the movie The Green Mile.
If you can get a ticket and it's in season, go to a Predators game. My boys are still talking about the one we went to back in February!

Come on coach...is there anything to do in Nashville? That's like asking if they play football in Alabama 🤣 🤣

I'm not sneaking into a prison; we're only there for 4 nights.

Who are the Predators? I thought they were the Oilers or Titans or something.

I've never been before. The only thing going on at the Grand Ol' Opry is an Independent Music Awards show (blech) and some comedian named Henry Cho. I checked out his videos online and didn't laugh. No point in paying to see a comic who isn't funny. So, I guess that leaves drankin' in the bars and visiting the Parthenon.

Evidently, we're going to see Jason Isbell at the Ryman Auditorium. It'll be our 4th time seeing Isbell which is really 4 times too many. But she likes him, so I'll grin and bear it. (ugh...). And she's going to see Darius Rucker another night. I'll probably walk around downtown that night.

While I beg to differ on the BBQ question having grown up in Memphis, I do agree that the best BBQ isn't in Nashville. I did go to school there, though, and every time I go back I make a point to go to SatCo for good (to me at least) Tex Mex. https://thesatco.com. It's right across the street from the Vanderbilt campus, so you can take a look at that if you want on your way to the Parthenon. I know I'm biased here, but you'd be hard pressed to find a better campus stroll. Any while I'm selling my alma mater, not sure what weekend you'll be there, but you could always see a Vandy game. Tickets are always available, and they even beat Hawaii 63-10 in game 1, so there's a tiny bit of hope they may be half decent.

--Eastern North Carolina barbecue was i n v e n t e d in eastern North Carolina. Not only is it the best in the world (and I try BBQ everywhere I go), but not even all the BBQ joints in eastern NC can attain such elite status. But it can only be found there.

--We're flying in on a Saturday, so I doubt it. But the opponent would be Missouri and KO times aren't announced until the week of. I'll look for this. Thanks for the tips, Tyler!

I always thought the best BBQ anywhere was in Kansas City. I had never tried it....just see them win lots of awards.
I suppose its all subjective. The best BBQ I've ever had came from Coach Gumbys smoker. Best drumsticks on the Planet bar none.
What is beautiful, lives forever.
i honestly haven’t had bbq in NC. I’ll have to check it out next time I’m up there.
Even though I still love my Memphis bbq, the best pork I’ve had is now from Rodney Scott in Charleston. He cooks the whole hog on his own coals. Really nice guy too.
