Today was our first action vs an opponent.
Take aways:
- no oline penalties
- lots of room for our running back to run in (if he could see them)
- our offense is so vanilla it should be out in a cone
- oline splits are "too big" dispite avg run of about 7 yds a carry ( 2ft splits)
- defense was par, running 425 essentially split 6 was different for the boys.
As just an oline coach I'm very happy the kids got live action and we produced a lot of great plays and blocks.
Plans for next week :
- add 6 more inches to splits (goal is 4 feet)
- explain that the RB needs to run more with the oline so he can learn how to see the plays (they only run on air and vs a defense with shields before today)
- get the lbs more confident in their roles and get they flying around more.
- try and convince the header we don't need to blitz every down lol
I can explain it to you, I can't understand if for you.
