I've coached youth football for 11 years, but the this is the first time coaching 7 on 7 and the first year we are doing the program in our city.

Is it best to have like 2 plays to flood a zone and like 2 plays that are man beaters?

Btw age is 11-13.

Currently coaching 12 yr olds

You will probably see mostly Cover 2 Man and Cover 3 Zone at that age.  I coach a 4th grade 7 on 7 team and keep our playbook at 15 different plays.  We run 2x2, 3x1, and 4x1 formations.  Mesh and rub route combinations work well versus man coverage.  Smash/Sail, Hank, and Levels versus zone.  Post/wheel combos work great versus man and zone (the younger players have a lot of trouble covering wheel routes).

Stick is probably my favorite 7v7 route. Works vs man & zone. Double Outs & a Go for a flood. First out at 5 second at 10.

Not really but a phone call or a skype session could give you all you need.

Just run the old UP / DN that you have run before. Works great.
