This week we widened our splits to about 4 ft (14u) played the big org and dominated to a 30-12 win. Amazingly our splits did not faulter , I was expet to have to close them down but the kids stepped up and had arguably our best oline game to date.

As we continue we will probably stay at 4 feet but if I can push them wider I can't wait to see how that would work. Our TE split was 6 ft. At one point we were almost hash to has it was insane. I told the kids if you can get to your man and lock in a fit widen a bit more and by the third quarter it looked like one of michaels pics.

Had 2 rushers over 200 yds. Shortest run was 5 yds. The lanes are so big they were impossible to miss.

Next up we have the an up and comming team of tough blue collars boy looking forward to locking horns and see what it do.

Another win for the big splits and this retired o line coach!

I can explain it to you, I can't understand if for you.

Good times, Zach. Good times.

Those splits are a beauty to behold, aren't they?

We were running Beast left on our near hash once and I noticed my TE was 5 yards from the sideline. It was an exhibition game, so I pulled my X receiver over, bumped over my short guard and it was official. We went from the hash to the sideline and scored on the next play. If I ever finish my mega splits book, I'd love to have you contribute/collaborate.

Game plan? I got your game plan. We gonna run the bawl some. We gonna throw the bawl some. We gonna play some defense. We gonna run some special teams, but we better not run kick return but one time and we sure as heck better not punt.

Gumby, I'll help with anything you need.  It's funny wide splits we're always relative to me. I think 4 feet is great when my oline is an avg height of 6ft tall. Now the little guys 9u I help we are at 2 feet and that sometimes looks like a country mile. If I can get those guys to 4 feet I'll definitely share as that's impressive.

Having fun and learning all over again

9 year olds for the most part, a few 8 year olds. I believe in Beast, we had them at 3 feet. Won 32-6, but the other team was very poorly coached. 10 man front is not a good idea against Beast, especially when 6 are on the short side of the ball. Gave up a handful of TFLs when they went double LB blitz through the A gaps while already in 202. On the other hand, they gave up 2 or 3 long scores on double LB blitz while already in a 202.

Blitzing issues are on me. I installed Domino earlier in the week, but did not consider slide protection or reach schemes. Then, I missed practice Friday to go fishing, so I wasn't there to fix it when Mahonz identified the problem. Or next opponent likes to blitz inside, so I will have this fixed in short order.
