Watched a team run Wing-T to perfection

As many of you know, my oldest is now playing middle school ball. He had his first road game yesterday.

They were destroyed by a team that ran the classic Wing-T to perfection. Almost every single play was out of the 100-Formation. The QB either gave it to the FB (who went playside rather than backside like I'm used to seeing) or fake to FB and gave it to HB coming around. Both guards pulled - playside kicked and backside looked for someone to hit.

Aside from the fact that it meant my son's team lost, it was really fun to watch these guys execute.

Good to know there are teams succeeding with this the way I'd rather do it.  My HC seemed to be stumbling into this, but I'm afraid has since then stumbled out of it.

Just to clarify, you mean on 121 the QB would open to the right, FB would fake taking handoff to the 4 hole on the QB's right, and QB would then continue to turn for the sweep handoff or waggle?

@bob-goodman - Yes, sir - that's why I mentioned it. It worked like a charm.

The next time I coach 10U / 12U, it's definitely an attack I'd want to use.

Love watching a good wing T team.  As a coach, when we run it, all I see are my kids' mistakes, so I wouldn't say we run it well, but fortunately it is a very forgiving Offense.

Umm.... why does that 6 ft tall 9 yr old have a goatee...?
