Nice post .This is the second model Diamond No.49 single shot pistol with iron frame, no bushing on the frame mounted firing pin and no sideplate. Barrel marking is the J. Stevens A & T Company with no patent dates. The serial number appears on frame under the grips, on the barrel, on the wedge and on the grips in pencil. 6" barrel, manufactured 1896-1916. The grips show a high screw (2) 1 on each side.Thanks.
I'll have what he's having! 😉

We run some diamond, it's our base personnel and formation, however many teams will load the box on us out of it. I feel you need a strong passing game from it and a 4-verts type play from it if you get 8 in the box.

I am looking into running this this season and wonder if anyone has anymore info on this as a base set... playbooks, blocking scheme, etc... Thanks in advance.

saw this couple of times in youth and HS. They can have a good outside sweep if they dominate you physically, the misdirection isnt good IMO becasue of the poor angles. There is no "quick hitting play" Other than that the angles are horrible, look at a standard 5-3, with DE standing 3 feet outside your OT, he comes up 2 or 3 steps and your offense is now in a bad place. We won these games not because we dominated physically our 1 on 1 match ups, or because we were faster. we won all because the backfield action was so slow our defenders were making tackles in backfield and bad snaps.
did I mention bad angles
We run belly from it and power, both are quick hitting. Also slant/arrow.

There is no "quick hitting play"
There's one available if the HBs (labeled H & Y in Coachguy's diagrams) are playing as close together as in Coachguy's diagrams, because they're close enough to intercept the snap while Q turns away as he would on other plays. Not hard for one of the halfbacks to do that for a quick hitter or trap somewhere between the tackles while the quarterback fakes other action with the other halfback and/or fullback. In my recent experience I wouldn't recommend a trap for that, because it requires some delay; straight dive instead.
ok the direct snap would be faster yes, I didnt even have that on radar
