Pistol Coaches...do you run your halfback counters behind the QB or in front? It seems to me the defense would overcommit to the wrong side more if the HB went in front of the QB...as long as the line could hold the initial push from the dline.
Your 35 gap and 45 counter are much better plays for your age group.
Thanks coaches. Your advice, which I agree with is contrary to what the university of CO offensive coach told me when I asked him at the Denver glazier clinic. He said to go behind vice under. I plan to try it when practice starts by going under as you stated. I definitely like the setup plays as well.

It would seem to me you could do both, although this is just playing with it in my mind. An underneath counter that hits in the B-C gap and a counter behind that is more of a reverse type play that is meant to go wide.
We ran our counters in front of QB. It was easier for us.
