Trying to figure the best way for the RB to take the hand off. does he slide step to playside then move forward
or cross over step the forward? Is the footwork the same on IZ as on OZ?

I know the land marks are different.

Is there other steps that are used by some of you and what are they?

Thanks
Randy

We will shuffle play side one or two shuffles depending on the RB and how fast he hits the hole. Shuffle, square shoulders to landmark and go.

We will shuffle on zone, power and counter so nothing changes for the RB regardless of the play. KISS.

I know other open, cross over etc but we won't.

Thanks Josh,
That's what I'm thinking but always looking at other ideas.

Tight zone we lateral step and come down hill fast into B 2 steps then cut or go north/south

Wide zone we drop step playside foot and take off towards tight end butt. On 3rd step we either cut or cram it in D or C gap depending on the front we see.

See attached...I differ in I dont teach cross over step in tight zone it just happends naturally. When I stressed it ball carrier got too wide.

I can explain it to you, I can't understand if for you.

I believe most have their backs shuffle shuffle and get downhill on IZ like Zach and Josh posted
