If you can wrap the rope around your fingers its too small.  😉

This is unbelievable.  I looked up to see if I can find what diameter of rope was used during the incident. Although I could not find the rope size, it appears this is not the first time this has happen.  Finger and whole arms have been removed when the rope has snapped.

First rule is don't wrapped the rope around your hand, forearm or shoulder.

A proper rope for Tug of War should be extremely heavy!!  Not some climbing Rope or nylon 1/2 inch crap.  Stout 2 inch rope 😉
