Wanted to let you guys know these pads have provided a great deal of protection while allowing throwing motion. The pads were put through its paces at a few week long camps. There were a few hits that looked pretty aggressive and he popped up fresh. The pads have the optional rib protection/back plate setup as well They are molded to the body and allow you scramble/run with out you feeling restricted.

Xtech pads are custom made for each player. You get measured and then they assemble to that spec. These small configurations make the fit precise for his body type. The padding is called XRD . Its pretty cool. We purchased a girdle with this padding. So far so good.

We moved from some AltII Tag pads with more of a linebacker setup. They served him well for 2 years, but when coach told him that his QB's dont play MLB we changed to a fulltime QB pad and it has enabled his throwing motion to be more natural.

AS the season goes I will let you know

nothing replaces effort. nothing replaces the mind. One with out the other is a waste of time.

an update on the pad performance.

Could not be happier. There have been a several senior 220-290 lbs hits on sophomore 160.  No broken pieces.

end of season report - XTECH pads performed. My son loved playing in them. great mobility and protection. There were several blindside and shoulder hits. There were several running back style hits. We used TAG ALT series before these and they were fine, but did not offer the same shoulder protection and mobility for a Q.
