Coach,

I'd recommend using the search feature and looking through all of the different topics on Beast as there are plenty. But for starters, Coach Parker made a post which should show up in recent posts on how he runs Beast. Additionally, Mahonz and Calande both have great info on it as well. I know that in one of Coach Calande's DW Illustrated he has a great article on it. Each DWI is only $7.50 and I would recommend them all, especially if you have any interest in DW.

With that said, what about the Beast formation and variations are appealing to you? What do you hope to accomplish with this that you cannot do with other offensive schemes? Is it the simplicity, ease of install, etc. These are all important questions when considering an offense.

Steve Parker has taken Beast further than anyone I know. https://coachparker.org/category/offense/beast-offense/

Check out his Youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC-dZDtOUCkYkkab66NWYZqA

I'm guessing Mahnonz will post 4 hours of Beast footage by this time tomorrow. We used to approach Beast as a separate offense. We always had a "regular" under center offense, usually based off Wing-T or I principles. We'd also have a 5 wide empty attack that believe it or not was 50/50 run/pass. Then, we'd have Beast.

Several years ago, Mahonz and I started integrating our existing blocking schemes and overall objectives into our Beast attack. That's the way we've been doing it for years. Now, when I talk to people interested in running Beast, I start with "how do you block your Power?", then help them build their Beast Blast off of that. Repeat for a counter, sweep and pass play.

Something to think about. If you're a TKO DW guy:

Zero splits

TKO rules on the play side

Pull the backside guard blocking inside out

Inside sniffer blocks ISO or back side

Middle sniffer kicks first to show

Outside sniffer blocks FBI

If you're us:

Mega splits

Split the short end

No pull

Play side blocks Inside Gap, Man On, Linebacker

Inside sniffer blocks ISO or back side

Middle sniffer kicks first to show

Outside sniffer looks for work

What I'm getting at is that a lot of guys (myself included) will cringe when you say you want to run a "formation". Whether it's "I-Formation", "Wishbone Formation", "Beast Formation" . . . it implies that whoever is in charge of the offense is pre-occupied with the "shape" his backs make. For us, Beast is exactly a formation because we employ the same blocking and landmarks that we do in any other "formation".

Here is a thread worth reading. Lots of different beast clips from multiple coaches to include lots of discussion. This thread is about 5 years old.

https://football.dumcoach.com/community/single-wing-football/the-beast-its-not-an-offense-its-a-mind-f-for-the-defense/

Here are a few fun ones that probably are not in that thread. I've kinda lost track. My current team is not highlight worthy. They cant seem to get out of one another's way. I should probably do a what not to do running beast Topic using their film.

Anyhoo....
