Any posts going forward (as of last week) will not be part of the new forum. I finally got a working migration to the new solution that took quite a while, so I don't want to have to repeat it. Please continue to use this one until we throw the switch. If there is something we don't think we could live without on the new one, I might be able to move a few things over.

I hope to give you guys a sneak peek sometime very soon!

Don't cross my path.

Seriously, are there no new posts?  Or am I reading the new forum wrong?

@bob-goodman

We have not actively advertised the new site yet, but members are finding their way back slowly. I had originally not migrated any posts after Thanksgiving from the other forum over to the new site. But I was able to go back and get everything up until the end of the year.

I am still working out some bugs, but it should be somewhat functional for now.

Don't cross my path.

Bob, I think it’s hard to tell.  It is certainly going to take some time to get familiar with where everything is.  It’s like coming into your house and someone’s moved all the furniture.

It looks like everything's laid out in practically the same order.  Only thing I notice different is that you have to pull down a menu from each section to find what's new, instead of having the main display show that over the whole site.  So it's like the furniture's in the same place but there are opaque dropcloths over everything that you have to peek under to see what's on the table.

One thing I see is that the editor gives only a uselessly short time to re-edit and update a post that's already posted.  Might as well entirely disallow altering posts if that's as long as we get.  Could you set it to 10 minutes?  5 at least?  That's if you're allowed to set that.

Why would there be a time limit anyway?

I'm not sure, but I think it's to prevent situations where somebody downthread quotes something that's no longer in the original.

Ah....I just mentioned this in another post. Thought is was like ProBoards whereas as soon as you leave a Thread....no more editing. Can you make it infinity?

Its why we never fired up an actual block member function on the old Forum .  If you were blocking someone then you could still see their posts via quotes. I agree there should be no time limit. It is a Hueys irritation for me only because I make a lot of typos. .
