Did the site help you make gains this season?

On the field no as I haven't coached in a while, but as a coach in learning, heck yes

Did you find value in this site?

I always find value in this site. the resources here are second to any other youth football site I have seen

Would you recommend this site to others?

I have and will continue to try and move the needle with more coaches getting here. Problem is a lot of coaches think they don't need it. I guess its against their manhood to try and get better

What would you like to change about this site?

From an insider I cant think of much. I guess maybe make it more inviting if that's even possible. Making new coaches feel more welcome. I feel very welcome here but I have been here for a very long time and I do feel apart of the team. I guess I want most coaches to feel like we all in this together to make youth sports better for kids

What would like to see added to this site?

As said before the youtube site is I think going to be a huge help. we can get views and monetize and coaches can click to get information.
I would hope coaches will put this site and the youtube site in their "Favorites" so its an easy click away.

Did the site help you make gains this season?

Yes. I lost my top two RB's to injury leaving me with no speed on offense. However, thanks to the Killer Bee, I went 3-4 over my last seven games... without scoring an offensive touchdown!

Did you find value in this site?

Absolutely. I'm out here every day or every other day trying to pick up something new

Would you recommend this site to others?

I have... unfortunately, the line of thinking in my org is "we've always done it this way"

What would you like to change about this site?

Not a thing...  I really appreciate everyone's candor.

What would like to see added to this site?

I'm a visual person, so obviously if we could add more playbooks / videos, etc. I'm down. However, the content out here is great, so if these changes don't happen, I'll still be out here.

Thanks for any insight that you can share.

I just thought of another thing that could be improved.  I noticed people aren't keeping their profiles up to date.  Very important source of context on a post, especially as concerns age of players you're coaching.

Paradoxically, it may be harder to keep those up to date when you only need to do so about once a year.  Last time I went to do mine, I had to poke around a lot before I found the way into the right place -- because it wasn't obvious to my intuition, and it'd been a year since I'd gone thru the process last, so couldn't remember the path of screens.  So maybe better labeling of the screens to do so would help.

Also, there are a few cases with our more prolific coaches where they're coaching more than one team at the same time.  Could be different ages or different systems that would show up in the profile.  Maybe we should have coaches have a separate identity for each team they coach in a given season.

Yeah, I really have no idea which team I should put.  And I'd certainly like more choices as to the types of schemes available to choose from.

Did the site help you make gains this season?
- I don't coach football anymore. But this site always helps me make gains in my overall coaching approach.

Did you find value in this site?
- Absolutely

Would you recommend this site to others?
- Absolutely

What would you like to change about this site?
- Piggy backing off another coach's comment about making the site more welcoming to new members....maybe a sub-forum for new coaches to make an introductory post about themselves, background, systems they run, etc so veteran coaches can welcome them and maybe comment about the best areas to find more info on their systems or recommend which coaches to reach out to.

What would like to see added to this site?
- Maybe open up a sub-forum for other sports (basketball, baseball, soccer, etc). It doesn't have to be as detailed as the football forum in terms of sections.  It can just be one sub-forum for each different sport.

Thanks for any insight that you can share.

Did the site help you make gains this season?

I don't know if it helped a lot this season but it has helped very much over the years.

Did you find value in this site?

Yes.

Would you recommend this site to others?

I have multiple times but no one has showed up.

What would you like to change about this site?

I like Dave's suggestion of no guests, member's only.  Make everyone log in to access the forum.

I would even support an annual fee to be a member.  Charge $10 a year for access to 100s of archived offense and defense playbooks, 1000s of threads discussing every facet of the sport and dozens of successful football coaches willing to answer questions and help each other get better at coaching.  Market it like that and I think your money issues will be solved.

What would like to see added to this site?

Bob suggested sharing member geographical location.  That  used to be a feature back in the day on the old DumCoach platform.  I liked that.  I think that info would need to be voluntarily shared but most of us would.

Thanks for any insight that you can share.

No, thank you and the rest of the admin for keeping this beast alive!

Did the site help you make gains this season?

Yes...found help in morphing the Bee into 8 man format that we are playing in this season.

Did you find value in this site?

Yup

Would you recommend this site to others?

Have, do, will continue too...

What would you like to change about this site?

Hmm...there were some good thoughts already added...members only, I like the idea, but would that scare off potential members if they couldn't lurk first. Member fee, if it was reasonable, I would pony up.

What would like to see added to this site?

dunno, add it, if I like it, I will use it, if not, I won't

Thanks for any insight that you can share.

None of them suck, they just haven't found what the kid is good at yet.

members only, I like the idea, but would that scare off potential members if they couldn't lurk first.

--Allow them to see the all of the subject topics and when they click on a topic, a message would state, "To read these replies and thousands more, you'll need to sign up for free membership."  Or some such.

Member fee, if it was reasonable, I would pony up.

--If coaches won't come to the site when it was free and didn't even require registering, I doubt that paying for material will get us anywhere.  But I ain't opposed to trying it.
