Have 2 teams heading into post season Friday (5a and 3a) and 1 going into off season (6a).

The post season teams carry on with a couple lifts a week with more of a focus on "prehab" or small joint support work.

The team wrapping up there season were given these points of emphasis.

If you dont play a winter sport

- find an activity to keep you active until training resumes.  Play intramural or activites at the school or ymca.

- step away from the game, be social, enjoy high school life.

- if youre going to exercise, try and keep it to bodyweight exercises.

-training resumes after xmas break for sophmore and juniors, Freshman training starts 12/2.

Best of the luck to teams playing in November, and for those wrapping up the time is now to make changes to help you get to the next level.

I can explain it to you, I can't understand if for you.

I’m asking because I don’t have a clue. How much does taking off two months hurt strength gains?

By taking time away from weights and pounding on the body of football youre body will "heal" or recover from the last few months of "stress" on spine and other joints.

We want to continue working on fitness as to why we recommend everything but weights until January.

Is there a routine I can give to 3rd graders to help improve their speed on their own time. Something simple since they are only committed to certain things for short periods of time.

Thanks Brother.

Play basketball is my first answer.

Theres no fun way to increase speed, it takes work. So i try and find things for the little ones.

Basic formula is jump, bound, sprint, run.  Thats what you can do to become faster and more agile.

Thats why i come up with basketball.

If youre going to run team drills for speed i can send you some fun stuff. But if youre looking for something  to just give them.

Play at least 1 hr of a game per day. Basketball, soccer, wall ball, raquetball, pick up football, soccer.

I can explain it to you, I can't understand if for you.
