I have a young man that most likely will sign as preferred walk-on at Western Kentucky very soon.  It's no Nebraska, but knowing where this young man came from I am very proud.  He could very rarely get through practices without water works and this past season he was the player always leading his team out onto the field. 

By the way, if you look a the video the offense he played in was coached by Andrew Coverdale. 

My 2007 team just had 3 players sign at D1: Vanderbilt, Clemson, NC State.  Two more from that team are playing football at Army and Navy.  Another is at D3.

The team I coached from 02-08 has a ridiculous 12 players that played College football last season....10 as red-shirt Freshman.

Two play for FBS programs. The rest play for schools like Augustana or Co School of Mines where your son visited.

Very proud of those kids.

Our Varsity Team last season had 3 players sign D1, the most notable signing with FSU. My Mint Hill team had 6 sign with D1 programs, Wake Forest, NC State, Western Michigan, Southern Illinois, & Marshall(preferred walk on). That's an incredible number considering that team had 24 players. The team the season before had 8, the most notable the QB at Tenn.

Our TB was offered on Friday by WVU, we anticipate our X should have several offers very soon. I was at a college recruiting fair on Thursday for D2 & D3 shools, we had 6 of seniors there who will be going on to play college ball, that will make the number about 11 from last season that will be playing in college. At the small school the numbers with the team size was perhaps 1 or 2 a year.

One of my former players and his dad went to a NAIA game- and they told me they counted about 50 people in the stands. He said there were more players than fans and obviously not all the parents made it. Love of the game, that's cool IMO

You know the boy that is the preferred walk on at Marshall, he played LB for me & I know you met him & his Dad. He is walking on as a long snapper, he was also offered the same thing at Georgia. They told him if he makes the team they will scholarship him in January. He's a great young man, good grades, great family. The NC State boy was the big TB who's Dad thought he was a QB. The Wake Forest boy was the fast receiver.

Next year will be the year for my last Mint Hill Group, I can see 4 will go D1, with the Young TB the next year. He is a sure bet, his brothers are at Georgia.

Most of my group has about 2 more years till they start going to college.

I can see 2 or 3 of the 30 that I was blessed with going on to D1. I will let ya know in about 2-3 years.

I have one former player going to UNC this year.  I'm fortunate to have two players at USC, one at ECU, one at UNC, and several at the FCS level.  I've been blessed to have coached some good kids at the MS level.

I had to coach against Nick Chubb when he was in the 8th grade. He was pretty dang good.

A player I missed by 1 year in our program is a rising junior and being recruited by Georgia Tech.  He will likely have multiple D1 offers by the time he is through.

None at all which isn't surprising as the kids weren't talented (enough to play college football).  I will likely have none next year too, two years from now two kids have a shot. 

Two years ago had a kid go to Colgate and started at QB as a true freshman and another kid go to Illinois on a baseball scholarship. 

Both were two of four best kids I ever coached.  Next two are Sophs this year.  One fractured his back this spring doing power cleans or clean and jerks which pisses me off and he was set to have a huge break out season.  He played varsity last year as a freshman.    Other one I just found out got moved to  varsity this season.  Don't know what position. 

Can't see any of the kids I coached last year playing in college.  Could see some of them getting academic scholarships.    Had some smart cookies on that team. 

I've got one player from my 06 and 07 team who landed a ride at Boston College (Joe's old school played his team a couple years back). Another from that team is preferred walkon at Michigan. A third just started Monday at the Merchant Marine Academy. A 4th is playing baseball for the Navy in Annapolis. There may be others I haven't heard about. At least one or two others I would be surprised if they didn't end up somewhere.

We have had a few sign D1 deals. We have had a handful sign for lower divisions. One would of been D1 for sure but his test scores forced him into the juco route. I think that kid has a good chance of ending up at K State since he is in Kansas and Schneider loves juco kids. We just had one sign a deal to a decent(as far as football goes) Big 10 school. I was suprised that he chose the one he did because he had offers from schools with much better football programs. Maybe he thought he could play sooner.
