New to DC and fairly new to coaching
Played football in school and now I have sons in a small community program I want to be involved as much as I can. Head coached my oldest on's flag team last year and now we have moved up to tackle freshman (ages 7-8).
Also have a 5 year old that will play flag next year.
Been lurking for a week after stumbling onto the site and decided to join. Not a professional or paid coach, just a dad wanting to invest in son and the community. Our league consists of about 18 small Texas towns. Most, ours included, is an evaluation camp and draft.
Always looking for advice and ways to teach kids how to play the game and how to have fun. Get tired of seeing the hat throwing coaches..
Looking forward to reading and learning from DC. Glad to be here

Welcome Coach.
That's exactly how many of us got started.
Beware.

To be good you have to work hard. To be better, you have to work harder. To be great, you have to keep working when the good ones stop.
Welcome coach!
Learn and have fun...great group of men on this board.
None of them suck, they just haven't found what the kid is good at yet.
Welcome, you've come to the right place.

On a lighter note. Welcome Spud. It is always nice to have coaches join the forum.
