Coaches,

I have a few questions I would like to ask.

  1) How did you come across The Dumcoach Forum?

  2) What the reason you became a member (as opposed to remaining a guest)?

  3) How long did it take you to join after you first found the fourm?

1) How did you come across The Dumcoach Forum? - former offensive coordinator sent me here to learn the double wing scheme in 2008

  2) What the reason you became a member (as opposed to remaining a guest)?- the downloads and the fact there are a lot of veteran coaches to learn from

  3) How long did it take you to join after you first found the fourm? -30 secs if that

I can explain it to you, I can't understand if for you.

1) I came across this site back in '06, I was looking for a way to beat the DW.

2) I wanted to Talk to other coaches and see if they were having the same issues as I was.

3) Less than a minute. Once I saw this place and how much is here I was hooked. What I really liked about this place is No one makes you feel inferior for asking a question, no matter how dumb you  feel there is always other coaches who have the same questions.

2 Things my offense will always have is a Wing and a Wedge

1. I came across this site, because I had many questions about coaching. This was the first site that popped up.
2. I posted a question and the response took me by surprise. I realised I knew nothing compared to what I thought I did. The questioned I asked didn't get answered, it was transformed into the questions I needed to be asking.
3. Immediately

Honestly was just looking for a site dedicated to the youth game. I read through for a day or two before I joined. Not the most active poster, spend a lot of time sorting through info, picking out the pieces that help our team.

A couple of weeks ago I did a google search on "zone block youth wing T" while revamping my playbook and banging my head against the wall trying to figure out how to block some of the defenses that we saw last season.  The first result was this forum.

I kept clicking on things that I wanted to see/read and getting the message that I had to be a member so I joined pretty much immediately. I feel like I've found King Solomon's lost treasure of youth football knowledge.

  1) How did you come across The Dumcoach Forum?

In a search, probably using Google, probably for something like "single wing" as a search string.

  2) What the reason you became a member (as opposed to remaining a guest)?

When I started actually coaching kids in football, I wanted to be able to ask questions, and in some cases to vent frustrations to people who would understand.

  3) How long did it take you to join after you first found the forum?

Several years.  My searching originally left me participating in Delphi's single wing, etc. forum as a fan.  After some time coaches there suggested I volunteer to coach youth football, and then after a health-related delay, I did.  It was after I'd been coaching a while that I started looking for more forums where I could share experiences relating to the nuts & bolts particular to coaching and to youth football.  I also joined Huey's, on the recommendation of someone from Delphi's single wing, etc. forum.

The funny thing is that even though I didn't read here much in that interval, when I first saw Dave Cisar's initials used on Delphi, I thought they were referring to DumCoach.

I might've joined DumCoach a little earlier if I'd realized sooner how much ground it covered.  From the hits I got in searching, it appeared at first not to have that much exclusive of wing T tips.  And AFAICT it has broadened even more since then.

It would only be proper to answer my own questions.

1) Back in 2011 I was running a Wing T offense, while doing some research I came across the DC Wing T.  Looking through the manual I wanted to learn more and further searching for more information on the DC Wing T eventually lead me to the new forum.

2) Downloading and viewing attachments

3) I want to say I must have lurked for about a week or so before joining.

I stumbled upon Jerry Campbell's Site in probably 1998 while searching...then Tobys White Board...or maybe it was the other way around....then eventually to InfoSports by about 2000.

Clark was the major player on InfoSports along with a few others. Coach Guy then decided to create the Classic DumCoach Site for him in probably 2005 so I just followed along.

What is beautiful, lives forever.

I lurked on InfoSports and joined the classic DC site when it was created (originally lurked as hornet115)

1. Sadly, I can't remember exactly what I was searching for football wise that brought me here,  😉

2. I quickly discovered there was a vast amount of knowledge to be gained here. Heck, I should post more often but I learn so much reading I don't have time to post!

3. I joined that day and it was a great decision!

1) I think it was a google search or some search engine and I happened to stumble upon this site.

2) Because after my first season coaching youth ball I realized I had no clue what I was doing and needed a lot of help, which I found here. I knew what we did in HS but that really wasn't much.

3) I believe I signed up right away.

1) Searching for any help I could find, I found infosports who had tons of stuff from a guy called DC.

2) I found the DC wing T and wanted it, switching to UBSW this season for my smaller minds

3) Instantly.. loved everything about the site.. and now I can proudly say I'm addicted to it. I come here at least 3x a day
