Just thought I'd say hello.
I've been lurking for a couple days and my head is spinning, yet I can't stop reading. Now if I can just retain a fraction of a percent of all that reading and knowledge.
Actually, I started taking some notes here and there and changed up a few things at practice tonight based on some of the knowledge shared here that helped me see where I was making mistakes and could improve the way I was coaching or approaching certain things with my players.
How I wish I'd found this board years ago.
Anyway, I'm back to reading and lurking. I'm sure I'll ask a question or two eventually, but for now between the search function and current posts I'm in heaven and finding answers to questions I didn't even know I had.
Welcome to the board Coach!
This place is a vast sea of knowledge about nearly any topic that you'll ever encounter.
Just a piece of advice when you're reading and come across an idea/scheme/whatever that intrigues you: Don't try to do it all. You're going to see so many things on this site that sound brilliant but there is no way you can implement them all into your program. Decide which ones truly fit in with your mission and do those. Over time you'll be able to implement more and more. But don't try to bite off too much too soon.
Just my humble opinion.
LOL... Thanksgiving is right around the corner, I think every Thanksgiving for years we would listen to that song driving to the Turkey Bowl. Of course nowadays we have practice for the Playoffs on Thanksgiving morning. Every year instead I have to listen to my wife complaining how could you have practice on Thanksgiving morning.
