Welcome Coach and Congrats.  I too am a first time Youth Football HC, although I have been an OC on a couple of youth football championships, and coached youth travel basketball teams, this is a new challenge that I welcome, especially since my players are 5-7 year olds.  In the past I ran mostly modified pro and I sets but we had alot of talent and speed.  As HC wanted to run a more team based offense and defense because I was unsure of what talent i would have and of course wanted it to be very strong in player development, was in line with my ball control and misdirection philosophy, and would fit my players age group.  This forum has been a great resource and the Coaches on here really share and reach out to you.

I decided to go with Jack's Triple B Series playbook and 63 Defense after doing all my research on the Double Wing and its successful history of "working with less, and getting more"!  One reason I really liked the Triple B is because it had the elements, clarity and simplicity for me as a new coach, my coaching staff and my players, plus it will allow our players for the next 3-5 years to build on it as we move up into different levels.  Good luck Coach!
