Guys that manipulate rosters- cut- get kids to quit- make them re-enter the draft- go recruiting crazy- usually dont value coaching, or have much faith in their own coaching ability. All for the sake of a plastic trophy.

The cool thing they miss out on is seeing those really unathletic MPRs- make some progress or at a minimum see how they develop off the field due to what they are getting on the field. Kids who just want to be part of something bigger than themselves.

However beautiful the strategy, you should occasionally look at the results.Winston Churchill

You mean in college? Yeah. Josh Sweat was the #1 kid in the nation a few years back and he headed to FSU. They have some good hs ball. It was amazing before all those youth team in PW went to AYF how many match ups were Miami vs. Baltimore/DC in the NC finals.

Yes- College Level

The Youth and HS ball is very good there- a hidden gem
The youth coach participation in clinics- highest in the nation- from my experiences

I could be wrong, but I'm almost positive that there's nearly 10 players taken in the NFL draft every year from the DMV area.  It's pretty impressive.

I have a new group of kids that have never done tackle football.  I have to explain to them why we have the mountains of paperwork and a mandatory Jamboree for our league to verify every player in person.  It all comes down to a small group of adults that cause everyone else the heartache of making sure that they don't cheat.

Very silly, but necessary as we have had 9th graders attempting to play on 6th/7th grade teams.  For what purpose?

Oh absolutely.  It's sad to see that people take youth sports to such a crazy level.  Don't get me wrong, I love winning, but youth football doesn't need to be ran like a college program.
The coaches that have to resort to that, are not confident enough in their own abilities at that point.

The ridiculous thing is that I know you can make it to nationals and win and still follow the rules. I never understood how one could be satisfied with winning when they know they went about it unscrupulously.

My ex mother in law swears Marcus Allen did it. No idea how she came up with that.

I have no idea Mike. She said something like "there is no way that nice man did that". How MA became the killer in her mind I never understood. The reasoning basically went since OJ couldn't of done it then MA must of. One of the strangest conversations I have had with an intelligent person ever. Why do you think he did it? "Because".

Must be an Eminem fan...

We traveled down to Baltimore last summer to play a team down there. Another team from Baltimore came up to a jambo we were in in August. Some great youth ball down there.

Obviously at the HS level DeMatha is the cream - gave Gorman all they wanted earlier this year. But they face great competition locally - don't just roll to state championship after state championship like Gorman does. Great football in that area - hope those colleges can start keeping more of those kids in that area.

There is some great youth ball in Baltimore/DC. Had a 34 game win streak broken by a Baltimore team. Loads of talent.
