WHY?

One can answer questions, or not!  One can accomplish some of the endless Honey Do's built up on scrolls (I said Scrolls -Plural) .  One does not have to think about or plan for Next Year.  That's someone else's Job!

Yet, I still read and study.

Kicks back in the Chase, grabs fruity umbrella drink, watches the waves crash on the beach.  NOT.

I do have a Recliner.  Dont do Fruity Umbrella Drinks and the beaches freeze over round here!

Its Position Coach or mowing the filed next year!      😛

I think congrats?

I figure I will get back into it once my son has finished college ball and graduated.
Then I will get back into it.
so I got round 4 seasons that I will need to sit out then back to it

I don't think Im retired right now just in waiting.

enjoy and I know soon you will be missing it if not already

enjoy my friend

I was almost convinced to coach 7s then someone said we would have a team of 13/14. Then i remember how nice my fall was announcing games, helping coaches, and mentoring my people.  Not nearly as much work but almost more rewarding.

I can explain it to you, I can't understand if for you.

I am all but certain I will miss the interaction with the kids!  I cannot tell you how much I enjoyed them!  I have been extremely blessed with Terrific parents over these past 9 years.

The game has changed so much and so has the landscape of what a header has to deal with during that time.  I just witnessed my previous groups last game as Seniors in High School. I also Coached this group of 8th Graders who will fill the previous groups spots. It's a full circle kinda thing.

Its all nuts and bolts!  I would now prefer to be the "Get Back" or Position Coach.
enjoy my friend

Folks:

There is a saying" "Leave things in a better position than they were when you started!"

We started selling Krispy Kreme Donuts and T-Shirts to raise funds to buy equipment.

We played our first few seasons on a Baseball Diamond using a Hay Wagon and Portable Basket Ball score board as the announcers booth and time piece!

We begged to get in to our current league by playing games against teams who had "Bye Weeks" yet not all would play us.

We got "Steam Rolled" our first few seasons!  1-26 as 8th grade coach.

I have since coached in 4 Championship games!

Our Program has won 3 straight Titles and played in many more.

We developed, built, and now play on our own field, with lights.

We have built our own storage facility to house equipment.

Our Community of 2100 souls is solidly behind us.

I have been a Header or Coach since our inception

I am a founder and a Board Member 4 times.

There have always been trials and tribulations (Drama).  Yet I think our program has flourished, beyond imagination, because of the hard work and volunteerism shown by many beside myself.  Coaches, Board Members, and Parents.  Through their efforts, I can truly say I leave it in better shape than when I started!

If our tiny little Hamlet can do so, so can yours!

This is 14 years of right and wrong.

As a single man and father of a beautiful little girl at my age if I walked away I couldn't see nothing that would occupy my time  inspire me or give me any true enjoyment. This is my hobby and what I spend my free time doing. The one time a took a year off in summer of 2010 my seed was planted by may 2011. Im in no rush to do that again outside of the beautiful child nothing but shit came out of  that deal that I can't get rid of LOL....Hopefully you don't stay away long Bro....

OK there has been much consternation, among the team, about who will Coach the upcoming 5th grade team.  Its been ongoing for some time now and, to date, there are 9 kids signed up.  9 kids from a team who played in the Championship game last year.  This makes me scratch my head!

I told them I would Coach with caveats!  Now it becomes put up or No Joy!  I can retire with a clear conscience if 7-9 more players and a few Dads dont step up! For obvious reasons I will not start a season with less than 15 on the roster!

My time is valuable to me.  If the kids and parents are willing, so am I.  If not............................

17 kids are on the roster.  11 5th graders and 6 4th graders (No 4th grade team)

Already have 4 of my 6 steadfast plays in my head.  DW Tight and Over formations!
We are "Tiny" across the board, comparatively speaking!    I told a few of the kids at registration to practice running with cinder blocks strapped to their shoes! Speed Kills!  LOL
