Since I coach two teams, I'll keep you guys updated on both of them.
The Vikings -- the younger of the two squads -- won 19-6 last night. The game was way more lopsided than the final score would show. We ran Beast Right 16 Tank 12 consecutive times in the second quarter. I know that it didn't beat @32wedge 's record of running the same play over and over again but thought it was worth mentioning.
Defensively, I owe a cap tip Coach @rpatric for helping me install the Split 44 (which I believe he learned from @CoachDP - who I'm going to ping about this later). The kids thrived on the outside-in pursuit angle, bottling up the run on every play except for one.
I'm super proud of these kids. It would have been easy for them to hang their heads after getting destroyed Saturday (4 TD's in 10 running clock minutes). Yet, they rebounded and played well.
Now, I have to get the Ravens ready for the team that hung 4 TD's on the other one!

Are you using IO with the Ravens as well?
I'm thinking you're going to exact some revenge for the Vikings! Congratulations Coach!

TPJ, the only way you're going to beat Nathan's record is to average less yards per carry. ?

I'd have loved to hear what the opposition was yelling out while you were running "Beast Right 16 Tank" over...and over...and over...
Repeating the same play with the same success always lends itself to the most entertaining comments from the losing side.
"That's not fair!"
"Y'all only have one play!"
"Stop it!"
"They're running the same play!"
(Pick one.)

Back when I used to chirp across the field.
Opponent: "Don't you know any other plays?"
Me: "Yep!"
Game plan? I got your game plan. We gonna run the bawl some. We gonna throw the bawl some. We gonna play some defense. We gonna run some special teams, but we better not run kick return but one time and we sure as heck better not punt.
Yesterday was Game 2 against the team that beat the Ravens on Thursday.
It was also a disaster, but for different reasons. The Viking line is used to blocking the Ravens because they're smaller (but considerably faster). Yesterday, they played some kids that were bigger. In the first half, they simply wouldn't stay on their track, which shut down power and counter. I had some success with sweeps, but just couldn't keep the drive going. On defense, we gave up two quick scores (kids were in new positions... top corner broke his arm in Tuesday's game) and were down 20-0 at half.
The second half -- well, let's just say it's the proudest I've ever been after a loss. As I always do, I told the kids to play the second half like the score was 0-0. They did! The defensive line started getting through, the OLB's started blowing stuff up, and we didn't miss a single tackle. On offense, I threw 4 straight TE pop passes (all completions!!) to make their corners back up (since our blockers couldn't get to them in time). The Power worked perfectly after that. If there were one more minute on the clock, we'd have scored (clock expired after a nine minute drive).
I'm proud of this group! They could have quit, but they refused to. Some might only remember the score of this contest, but I won't ever forget the second half. That'll mean more than any "W" I post this season.
