Greetings Coaches,

Played the 4th seed in the 1st rd of the play-offs.  Good roster, solid team, gave us some trouble when we met earlier.   We won 34 – 6, putting us in the championship game for the 6th season in a row.  The super team with all the speed and formations also won in their play-off game, so it’ll be a rematch of the Flintstones vs the Jetsons.   We’re the modern stone-age football team.  Yabba Dabba Doo!

We opened with the wedge, kids were giggling on the way to Oline, so the Defense knew something was up, nice 3 yd gain, followed up with Wedge again, for another nice 3 yd game.   QB was trying to force things instead of letting it happen, got himself tangled up with the OG’s feet both times.  Ran Buck-short and hit big, came back with it again and scored.

They put together nice drive and scored to tie it up 6-6.

Then our HB took over the game…  adding two more scores the 1st half.  Defense was lights out for the rest of the half.    21 – 6 at half time.

We on-sided to start the 2nd half, recovered – 'old school' says go for the jugular after a take away … we did, HB option pass.  Hit the receiver in stride for a 48 yd TD.   Pretty much ended the game right there.  [We've done very well on ball security this yr, no turn overs on our part this game.]  The opponent’s heads were down, most the starch taken out of them.   Well, until the 4th Q when we had a couple big penalties, and they hit a couple big plays and they came to life, got down around the 8 yd line…  Defense rose to the occasion and we took over on downs at the 21.   We ran the FB on several Bellies out to just past the 50.   Wedged again, this time the QB was patient found the seam and scored on 49 yd scamper.   We stuffed them after that, got the ball and rode out the clock.

Our HB has been scary good the last 4 games, on both sides of the ball.  He was always pretty good, but now he’s hard to even lay a hand on.   Kid’s on a mission.   And making us coaches look pretty good, too.  We're now 7-0 have out scored our opponents 210 - 63.  Ave pts scored = 30 pt/game.  Ave pts surrendered = 9 pts/ game.

A week from tomorrow is the championship game, we’ve got two practices to polish up and then we play for all the marbles.
